Regarding Nakshatra, what exactly are Nakshatra? To understand Nakshatra, we first need to understand the Earth and its motion. The Earth revolves around the Sun, along with the other planets. It also rotates on its axis from west to east. The part of the Earth facing the Sun, where sunlight increases, is daytime.

The part of the Earth that faces the Sun, where sunlight does not fall, is dark. This means that the Earth has two parts: one where sunlight is falling, and the other where sunlight does not fall.

Now, to understand, let’s assume that the part of the Earth where you are standing is the Northern Hemisphere. And if someone like you is standing on the opposite side of the Earth, that is daytime.

Basis of Nakshatra?

Let me explain. When you look at the sky at night, you only see half of it. Suppose another person on the opposite side of the Earth is treating the sky like you at that time. The person who is doing this will also be able to see only the forward part of the sky.

Those living in the Northern Hemisphere, the part of the sky you can see is called knowledge, and the part of the sky that a person standing on the other side of the Earth can see at that time is called sage.

In this way, you and that person together can see the entire sky, and half of that is theirs, and this entire sky is called a pair of sleeves. In this festival, you both will see many groups of stars forming some kind of pattern, perhaps a human, an animal, or maybe an object. The patterns formed by Will Smith, the King of Pop star, are called constellations or Nakshatras.

So, there are many Nakshatras in the sky, but our sages and saints have recognized only 28 Nakshatras. Even among them, the 28th Nakshatra, called Abhijit, has not been included in astrological calculations. They have considered only 27 Nakshatras to be the main ones, and each Nakshatra has been named based on the shapes formed by the conjunction of the stars.

In Indian astrology The Moon’s movement is known as a Nakshatra. For example, when the Moon moves from zero five to 13 degrees 20 minutes, it is called Ashwini Nakshatra. When the Moon moves from 13 degrees 20 minutes to 2640 minutes, it moves to Bharani Nakshatra.

And so on, and in this order, a new season begins after every 13 degrees 20 minutes. In essence, this cycle of 360 minutes is completed by 27 Nakshatras. Like the Sun, Nakshatras are also self-luminous.

That is, unlike the planets Mars, Venus, Moon, and others, Nakshatras do not receive light from any other stars, and their distance in inches is much greater than that of the planets. To measure the distance of planets in the sky, stars with calm and steady brightness were discovered so that the orbits of planets could be studied.

This means that the distance of planets is measured by Nakshatras. Just as stones are placed at different places to measure the distance of roads, and the distance in kilometers is marked on them.

Similarly, Nakshatras are also measured in the sky. It is used like a distance measuring paper. From the mathematical point of view, by dividing the entire sky into 360 degrees, 27 constellations have been calculated, according to which each constellation is of 13 degrees 20 minutes.
